We would like to take time to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude for the generous donations and letters to our troops in Afghanistan and our own Summit Catering Family Resident Soldier, Gary Jaconski. We were most pleasantly surprised by the big heartedness of those who helped with their plentiful donations and support. We feel compelled to personally thank some “Hometown Heroes” – people who, through their caring and hard work, collected a substantial 19 large boxes that we were able to ship to Gary and his unit overseas.
To Ms. Hahn and Ms. Wills from Tabernacle Elementary and Olson Middle Schools. These two incredible woman spear-headed the efforts at their schools and not only collected these large quantities of supplies, but also asked the students to write letters and cards to the soldiers. The words of encouragement, written by the children, brought tears to our eyes and will truly touch the hearts of these young men and women who are away from their families during the holidays. Ms. Wills has also expressed an interest in keeping up with the written correspondence to the soldiers, after the holidays, as too many times our efforts decline as the holidays fade. We are looking forward to continuing our work, along with Olson Middle School, in keeping the morale and spirits of the troops in high gear for months after this holiday season is merely a memory. When Gary returns from Afghanistan, Ms. Wills has invited him to visit the Middle School and speak with the Students. THANK YOU Ms. Hahn and Ms. Wills – what wonderful Angels you both are!
To the staff, students, and families of the Tabernacle Schools – your generosity is overwhelming, and we cannot THANK YOU, enough!
To the following members of the Summit Catering Family: Bernard and Maureen Christopher, Lisa Minner, Nancy and Jim Kennedy, Patty Fleming, and Mary Wisniewski , who took the time to bring in supplies and treats for us to ship overseas. As your hard work for our customers always makes us proud, this additional effort for your fellow co-worker has made us even prouder. KUDOS to you!
Gary’s wife, Cassy, spoke with him this week and informed him of the 19 boxes that were shipped on December 5th. He sends a huge THANK YOU, and he and his unit are eagerly awaiting the goodies.
We cannot thank everyone enough. Have a Blessed Holiday, and know that each and every one of you has made a positive difference in the lives of these heroic soldiers. We Salute You, and pray for a safe return home to all of those men and women in our armed forces!
